The art of enameling genuine coins as jewelry flourished in Victorian England. It was an exacting skill that took days to complete while the enamel fired in special ovens. Only one side of the coin was enameled, the other side still shows the profile of Queen Victoria. These coins were then used to make cufflinks, hatpins, broaches and pendants.
