The art of enameling genuine coins as jewelry flourished in Victorian England. It was an exacting skill that took days to complete while the enamel fired in special ovens. Only one side of the coin was enameled, the other side still shows the profile of Queen Victoria. These coins were then used to make cufflinks, hatpins, broaches and pendants. They are as much a piece of art as they are sixpence coins.

The main year of production was during Victoria's Golden Jubilee celebration. Your coin, dated 1887, will arrive in a special presentation folder along with a descriptive card and Certificate of Authenticity. A silversixpence.com excluse, only one coin available at this time.
