1970 Proof Sixpence Coin

When Great Britain moved from pences and crowns to decimal coinage in the early 1970’s, collectors all over the country requested an issue of the final set of the old coins whose history could be traced back more then twelve hundred years. The government responded with a special presentation collection, including the famous sixpence coin which was discontinued after 416 years . These coins were only issued in proof condition.
